Parker Pens

Parker is one of the big names still around since the Golden Age of fountain pens. Although you will find some less expensive models in the big box stores, Parker offers much higher end lines, and vintage Parker pens are highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

The story of Parker begins in 1888 in Janesville, Wisconsin. George Safford Parker, who had been selling pens for the John Holland Pens Company, finds that all too often the pens break down. He seems to spend more time fixing than selling and decides to find a way to make a better pen. Parker develops his first pen and patents it on December 10, 1889. Two years later he finds a financial partner and in February, 1892 the Parker Pen Company is incorporated. Since 1985, Parker is based in England and is currently owned by Newell Rubbermaid in their Sanford division.
